Has anyone heard of soaking a chalk line reel with olive oil to improve the chalk line to use for building?
No, only the ruin of the line. If you need a clear line, you can get thinner strings. A friend of mine who is a string of barely thicker than the son, but he is solid and a line of minimum reserve. I just used the standard chain on mine. For a cleaner line, keep it off the surface and return once or twice. Set to the surface, pull hard, and has a very clear line. Hope this helps.
